These mitts are awesome! I have biked in -5 F in them, I started the ride with goretex mitts over the top and took them off because my hands were too hot. Still they are comfy for normal Colorado life and not to hot. I prefer mitts to gloves for skiing and such because when I need dexterity to tie knots or roll cigs I just do it bare handed and then stuff em back in the mitts. I wish they had made these when I was a snowmaker! I used OR mitts but prefer having the finger division, using the mitts with out the division for many hours a day caused blisters under my finger nails from the mitts not bending with my hand and my fingers sliding on the pile lining. I am sure more modern OR mitts are better but for a five times the price why find out. These are awesome! I just wish they had a clip in loop on the finger end for clipping to my climbing harness ice climbing. This though would cost much more. They are also awesome as camping mitts, handling logs in the fire, touching hot cast iron pans and pouring out pasta water these can’t be beat.

I have been walking dogs twice a day, rain or shine, in the cold, for more than 20 years. Each year, I purchase an article of clothing that will make the experience comfortable. Over the decades, I’ve found the right rain gear, the right boots, the right headlamp, and the right hat. I have purchased many pairs of gloves over the years. from down to hollofil, wool to synthetic I’ve tried them all, and none have been good. I might add that I’ve bought both expensive pairs, as well as inexpensive ones. This year, I did another search on the web and stumbled into some reviews of the Kinco 901T. I thought I’d give it a try….and I wasn’t disappointed.

My criteria was: 1)Keep my hands warm. 2)Waterproof. 3)Did not have an enormous gauntlet that prevented tucking into my jacket sleeve.

I received the 901T and applied Sno-Seal. They are perfect! I’ve been in the cold. I’ve been in the rain. I’ve been in the cold rain….and all the while, my hands (fingers) are toasty for the first time in 20 years.

I equate these gloves to my down jacket. I just love that article of clothing. Even in the bitter cold, I can go out with a t-shirt and the coat and be entirely comfortable. I see the 901T in the same way. Sliding my hands into them, I’m instantly comforted.

If you’re like me and have always struggled for warm hands, you won’t be disappointed. And, if you want to be in the wet weather, simply add Sno-Seal, or another similar product. Enjoy!
